Hunger and poverty in San Diego County:
Of San Diego County’s 3.1 million residents, 475,773 people live in poverty – that’s 15.2% of the population of San Diego County.* Of this number, 138,334 are children. These individuals face "food insecurity" which means that little or no food is available at home, and often they will not know how they will get their next meal.
For the more than three years I've lived in San Diego, I've seen many homeless and, no doubt, hungry people. Most of my time during the past three years has been focused on setting up my real estate business so that I myself am able to continue to enjoy beautiful San Diego. This year, however, I thought it about time that I donated my time to help make even a sliver of a difference.
